Software Developer Playtech Lands Exclusive Deal for Family Feud
The online gaming world is thrilled as Playtech Live, a top software provider, teams up with Fremantle, an international entertainment company, to bring the famous Family Feud game to the global live gaming scene. This partnership, covering the United States and featuring the UK Family Fortunes game, is a big moment in gaming history.
Edo Haitin, CEO of Playtech Live, is pumped about this partnership. He said, “This deal with Fremantle is a total game-changer. Our vision at Playtech Live is always to deliver the best possible entertainment experience, and this partnership really emphasizes our dedication to that mission.”
Senior Vice President of Partnership Solutions at Fremantle, Erica Gadecki, adds that this “collaborative effort with Playtech on the iconic gameshow Family Feud is how Fremantle continues to deliver unparalleled entertainment in today’s market.”
The Original Family Feud Game
Originally created by Mark Goodson, the beloved Family Feud game show has been around since 1976 and to this day remains one of the most popular American TV game shows. The game is based on two families competing to answer questions from surveys. These questions often have funny or surprising answers, which makes them even more enjoyable for viewers. The goal is to correctly guess the most popular answers to these questions. The family with the most points wins in the end.
The show is currently hosted by Steve Harvey, who had taken the show out of a slump back in 2010 and increased its ratings by as much as 40%. Family Feud has since been renewed for three more seasons, which will take it to 2026 at the very least.
Playtech’s Journey
Shifting the focus to the other half of the partners, Playtech’s journey all began in 1999 in Estonia, where Israeli entrepreneur, Teddy Sagi, got together with his group of partners to bring to life their idea of making online gaming simple and fun. The company welcomed its first gaming licensee two years later and now provides software for a plethora of online gaming and sportsbook games, mobile gaming, and live games, among others.
Since then, they’ve achieved some impressive milestones, from getting noticed on the London AIM in 2006 and growing bigger year after year. They’re known for creating popular games with top-notch technology, which is why they’re such a big deal in the gaming industry. Their products are extremely popular on many online gaming sites and are also available to play at top casinos not on Gamstop, such as DamSlots and Luck of Spins. Some of their most popular online slots include titles such as Age of the Gods, The Matrix, and Green Lantern.
Playtech Live’s financial performance in 2023 was impressive, raking in a massive €859.6 million ($902 million in dollars), an 8% jump from 2022. Their adjusted EBITDA shot up by 10% compared to last year.
Q1 2023 saw Playtech making strategic moves to solidify its position in the gaming market. The company reported steady growth in both its B2B and B2C divisions, showcasing its ability to cater to a wide range of audiences. Additionally, Playtech extended its software license agreement with Buzz Bingo, ensuring a continued partnership until 2031.
