Sony increases the recommended retail price of PS5 consoles in Europe, Australia and New Zealand from today

We have usually witnessed that various companies decrease the prices of electronic gadgets after their initial launch in order to attract more consumers. But Sony seems to bring a shocker for its users as the company has yesterday announced a price hike for PS5 consoles in certain regions.
In its official blog, the company mentioned that due to the challenging economic environment, including high inflation and fluctuating exchange rates, the recommended retail price (RRP) of PlayStation 5 consoles will be increased in Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA), Australia, and New Zealand. The price hike will be effective starting from today.

- UK- PS5 Digital Edition priced at £429.99 (No pricing changes for the standard PS5 with Ultra HD Blu-ray disc drive)
- Australia- Standard PS5 with Ultra HD Blu-ray disc drive- AUD $829.95/ PS5 Digital Edition- AUD $749.95
- New Zealand- Standard PS5 with Ultra HD Blu-ray disc drive- NZD $949.95/ PS5 Digital Edition- NZD $859.95
PS5 Pro RRP remains unchanged, while the Disc Drive for PS5 will be getting an RRP decrease effective from today.
