Wordle ported to retro console Nintendo’s Game Boy
Someone ports Wordle, the word game to an old gaming console of Nintendo
Wordle ported to Nintendo’s Game Boy. Wordle is a popular word game. Josh Wardle is the developer of the game. It was released in October 2021. Of late, it is undergoing a lot of changes. For instance, New York Times purchases it in 2022. NYT adds it in its NYT gaming arsenal which already has games like spelling bee.
What is Wordle about?
Basically, the game is about guessing a word with five alphabets. A player gets six attempts to guess the word. The five lettered words in Wordle are presumably the most common five-lettered words in English language.
Wordle ported to Game Boy
A security researcher from Kotaku, Stacksmashing, has Wordle ported with Nintendo’s retro gaming console, Game Boy.
Game boy is a three decades old gaming console. It is as old as 1989.
Although, people keep porting the game to retro consoles. There may be more such ports in future.
Gamers experiment and endeavour to port games to as many platforms and consoles as possible. For e.g., New Doom is ported to many platforms.
How to play it on Game Boy?
Firstly, due to Game Boy’s smaller size, Stacksmashing could not accomodate all the words but only 8,000 commonly used ones in English.
Despite the fact that not many people might have Game Boy preserved with them, it’s available for download.
Once downloaded, it needs to be loaded on friendly cartridge to play it.
Thus, ready to play!

Since, not many people might have Game Boy, Stacksmashing ports Wordle with something as modern as Analogue Pocket too!
