Ola Unveiled Four AI Chips But With Limited Information About Them, Will Start Releasing It From 2026
Ever since the AI has come into the tech town, everything is just about or around it. Companies are working harder than ever before to dominate in this domain and now comes an Indian company named Ola. You read it right, Ola has jumped into the race by announcing the company’s first AI chip. As per the reports Ola has unveiled multiple chips though didn’t reveal extensively about any of them. The chips that the company revealed include Bodhi 1, Bodhi 2, Sarv1, and Ojas.
Ola presented some limited new info about their upcoming chips for krutrim and ola vehicles yesterday.
Sarv-1 is probably using Arm CSS (N3 core?)
Both the AI ASIC and their Arm chip seems to be using Advanced packaging
Bodhi-2 probably has CPUs on the same package. pic.twitter.com/qaFI5rHpoB— Bionic_Squash (@SquashBionic) August 16, 2024
First comes the Bodhi 1 AI chip that Ola says is designed for the large-scale LLMs and Vision model. It targets inferencing workloads. It will have the best-in-class power efficiency and will come in 2026. Its next iteration is also unveiled, that is Bodhi 2. This is said to be comparatively more powerful than the Bodhi 1. It is said to deliver the best in class performance for AI training and it can come in 2028.
There is also an AI chip with the name Ojas that will support a wide-edge ecosystem in the upcoming days in automotive, XR, Mobile, IoT, etc. Next is Sarv-1, a cloud-native chip that is said to be designed for cloud computing. It will arrive in 2026. As far as their fabrication is concerned Bhavish Aggarwal will go with a global tier I or II foundry.
