After UPI Payment now WhatsApp will stop working on the older iPhone
This step could force iPhone 5 and iPhone 5c users to upgrade to a newer iPhone model. Another report also suggests that it is not practical to update to a new iOS build on these iPhone models. The WhatsApp feature tracker said Apple is warning some iPhone owners that WhatsApp support for their devices is coming to an end. As per the warning, iPhones running iOS 10 and iOS 11 software will no longer be able to use WhatsApp. Moreover, the tech giant plans to add some new functions that may not work in the older operating system.
Beginning in October 2022, WhatsApp will stop providing compatibility for certain older iPhone devices. Therefore, iPhone users who wish to continue using WhatsApp but are using an older model will need to update their hardware.
WhatsApp will cease to function on iPhone models running iOS 10 or iOS 11 as well as iPhone 5 and iPhone 5c models, according to WABetaInfo. According to reports, the modifications will go into effect on October 24. In order to continue using WhatsApp, users of iPhone models running iOS 10 or iOS 11 will need to update their devices to iOS 12 or later.
Why UPI has stopped and WhatsApp will stop working on older iPhones?
Since some recently added features might not be compatible with earlier operating systems, the instant messaging software owned by Meta often discontinues support for some older Android and iOS versions. In the upcoming months, WhatsApp plans to discontinue support for iOS 10, iOS 11, iPhone 5, and iPhone 5C.
Accordingly, updating to iOS 12 is required if any of the aforementioned iPhone owners want to keep using WhatsApp. Therefore, users of the iPhone 5S, iPhone 6, and iPhone 6S can still use WhatsApp but they must update their iOS version.
According to other media sources, WhatsApp has reportedly already begun notifying iPhone users who are running iOS 10 or iOS 11 versions of the application. Given that very few people used iOS 10, iOS 11, this might not have an impact on the majority of iPhone owners.
In contrast, the software continues to support Android 4.1-based smartphones.
