Apple buys AI startup to work on Heartbeat-based personalized music

Apple has acquired an AI startup that uses artificial intelligence to generate personalized soundtracks and adaptive music. The AI startup is ‘AI Music’. The company AI Music, a London-based business was founded in 2016. The company had about two dozen employees before the deal.

The deal is made to generate dynamic soundtracks that can be changed, with respect to user interaction. According to the LinkedIn profile, AI Music’s goal is to “give consumers the ability to choose the music they want.  Seamlessly edited to fit their needs or create dynamic solutions that adapt to fit their audiences.” The company had earlier worked with advertising companies to create more engaging ads that played different music depending on the audience, as per the source.

Application of AI music may work in diversified fields. Like for a workout music can change based on the user’s heartbeat, with adjusting to the workout’s intensity. AI Music has a technology that could allow advertising companies to create audio that will match the context of what the user is doing or things like mood.

This deal with AI  Music could potentially help Apple in many ways. Its application can be seen in -songs that can update based on heart rhythm could be used in Apple Fitness+ or Apple Music’s algorithm. This Apple product can be equipped with features compared to that YouTube Music’s auto-play features or Spotify features.
