ChatGPT Android App Now Live
For quite something, iOS users have had the privilege of using OpenAI’s ChatGPT on their iPhone devices, and in India too, iOS users were able to access the AI chatbot on iPhones since May 2023. The much-awaited news has finally arrived!
The Android app for ChatGPT has been made live on Google Play Store and the app is now available for download in a handful of countries. For those of you who can’t download or who are unable to download the app, you can still pre-order it as OpenAI will be making it available to more countries soon. Next week, a few countries are expected to receive access to the ChatGPT Android app.
The ChatGPT Android app will work similarly to the way it worked on the web but the interface has been optimized so that it can be used conveniently on a mobile device. Just like chatting with one of your friends, you’ll be able to ask questions, doubts or your thoughts on the app and the AI chatbot will be there to answer it or give insights about what has been talked of.
Android users will be able to sign in to the app with their existing ChatGPT account if they have one or can sign up as new users for free. With an optional subscription, users will be able to use GPT-4, a larger language model with more added features. ChatGPT Plus can also be accessed on Android smartphones via an in-app purchase and if you are already subscribed to ChatGPT Plus, you’ll be able to access it with the help of your existing ChatGPT account itself.
