Facebook Marketplace to be facilitated by DoorDash, partners with Meta

According to recent reports, Meta has collaborated with DoorDash. This would facilitate pickup and delivery of our Facebook Marketplace purchases. DoorDash will cover delivery requests up to a distance of 16 miles.

However, it is to be noted that not every item is eligible for delivery. It has been reported that DoorDash will only deliver items, which are small enough to fit in the trunk of a car. It has also been stated that drivers are expected to cover the delivery request within 48 hours. In spite of a few downsides, it is still a great option to pick up an item for anyone who isn’t able to pick up an item themselves.

As of now, Facebook only facilitates delivery of larger items through a service called Dolly. Additionally this service is available only for over two dozen cities throughout the United States. This connects a user with one or two local “helpers” that loads bulky items such as a refrigerator, bookshelf or air conditioner into a pickup truck and delivers it for free. Additionally Meta also allows Marketplace sellers directly ship items to a buyer’s address.

However, it has not been made clear about how many users can access DoorDash and the locations that it can cover. Meta confirmed that it is testing the initiative in the US as of now. DoorDash has put no official comments or statements forward themselves.
