Get ready to witness the launch of PSLV-C55 live from 13:45 hrs which will carry two Singapore satellite
This is the time to witness the launch of the PSLV-C55 live from the Vikram Sarabhai Space Centre. You read it right, at any moment PSLV will pierce the clouds and take the two payloads to space. This is going to be the 57th flight of the PSLV and the 16th flight of the PSLV-CA variant. As per the brochure released by the ISRO website, “PSLV-C55 is a dedicated commercial PSLV mission of New Space India Limited(NSIL) for the international satellite customer from Singapore”.
It will carry two workloads with itself which are TeLEOS-2 and Lumelite-4. The TeLEOS-2 satellite is developed under the partnership between DSTA and ST Engineering. This satellite will fulfil the satellite imagery requirements of the Singapore Government agencies. The SAR Synthetic Aperture Radar payload of the TeLEOS-2 will provide all weather and night coverage.
The second payload, LUMELITE-4, has been developed by Institute for Infocomm Research and Satellite Technology and Research Centre of the National University of Singapore. This satellite will be used for the e – navigation and maritime safety thus benefiting the global shipping community.
