Google Forms Introduces New Table Formatting Feature for Enhanced Data Structuring in Google Sheets
‘Google Forms’ is a popular online tool by Google that helps in creating surveys, forms, quizzes, and data collection. This tool has been widely accepted and used in various domains, ever since it was introduced. The use of Google Forms is now seen in schools for Online Assessments, offices, and agencies for surveys, and interactive ideas like quizzes etc.
In August 2024, Google announced a new formatting feature for Google Forms, which enhances a user’s experience in terms of structuring their data.
This new update gives a user their Google Forms data in the form of a table when they create a new sheet. This is facilitated by Google Sheets, which automatically uses the Forms data and opens it in the form of a table. Thus, you gain a better format and structure for your data.
However, if you open a pre-existing sheet connected to a Form, there won’t be any changes. To avail the data in the form of a table, you will have to select Format > Convert to the table.
Google hasn’t put any admin control on this feature.
As of September 2024, the feature is available for all Google Workspace customers, Google Workspace Individual subscribers, and users with personal Google accounts.
