Instagram introduces ” Recently Deleted” Feature
Instagram is adding a ‘Recently Deleted’ folder which gives users a chance to review their content before permanently deleting it. In layman’s terms, this feature will safeguard your content against permanently deleting it.
After the update, when users remove content it will be sent/ transferred to Recently Deleted. From this folder, the content can be deleted permanently or can restore it from the same.
Secondly, hackers sometimes delete content when they gain access to an account, and until now people had no way of easily getting their photos and videos back. This feature will help you gain easy access to those deleted content too which weren’t supposed to be deleted in the first place, be it by hackers or by you accidently.
Moreover, the content in the Recently Deleted folder will be automatically removed after 30 days.
How to get access to this folder?
Settings > Account > Recently Deleted.
However, Instagram already offers a similar feature called ” archives”. users could archive content from their profile without deleting it permanently.
