Latest Chrome Version 88 Includes Important Fix
Google’s latest Chrome version 88.0.4324.150 has come with an important update which is a fix for a zero-day vulnerability in the web browser that the company says is likely to have been exploited in the wild.
However, Google hasn’t provided any specific details about the corruption bug which is known as CVE-2021-21148, and says it won’t do so “until a majority of users are updated with a fix.”
This update is important than any usual update to the latest version of Chrome on devices across Windows, Mac, and Linux.
The bug was reported on January 24th, a day before Google’s Threat Analysis Group publicly disclosed a hacking campaign that appeared to be relying, in part, on an unpatched vulnerability in Chrome. It stated that the government-backed hackers based in North Korea had set up a blog to lure their targets to, which would infect their machines even if they were running fully-patched software.
The browser will be updates automatically.
