Nearby Share Beta launched by Google for Windows ; Here are the steps to setup the app

Last year Google announced Nearby Share which was supposed to allow users to transfer files between Android and Windows devices seamlessly. Finally, Google has launched Nearby Share for Windows as a beta application. This beta app is available for anyone with a Windows PC running the 64-bit version of Windows 10 or newer. Google’s Nearby share has a kind of similarity in terms of features with Samsung’s Quick Share.

Nearby Share allows users to control who can discover their device and send files, whether it’s everyone, only your friends and family, or just your own devices. With the help of this app, you can securely transfer photos, videos, documents, and more to your PC directly along with that the app allows you to transfer entire folders.

This feature is made available to all Android phones running Android 6 or later. The app is not supported on ARM devices. To get the Nearby Share Beta app on your Windows PC, you need to download and install the app.

Steps to set up the app :

  • Download the app, then install it to your Windows PC
  • Set your preferences
  • Sign into your Google account
  • Set your device visibility preferences to choose who can share with you
