New Firmware Update available for Sony FX30 and FX3 cameras ; Here’s everything you need to know

Sony has announced a major firmware update for the FX3 and FX30 digital cameras. This upgrade has arrived with some major improvements and newly added features to enhance the user experience and also provides high-definition videos and pictures. FX3 will be getting a V3.00 upgrade while FX30 will be receiving a V2.00 upgrade. Sony has also made this announcement through their official Twitter account also.

The arrival of  major additions with this update

  • 4K DCI
  • In-camera anamorphic de-squeeze
  • 24p recording
  • Convenient S&Q switching
  • Access breathing compensation

The new update also features a smartphone connection and integrates with Sony’s new Creator’s Cloud platform. This also includes the addition of the Creator’s app by which you can transfer data from the camera to the cloud which means that C2C workflows are now enabled for both cameras. After installing this update the users will not be able to connect their cameras with the Imaging Edge Mobile app.

Also, FX30 owners are advised to first update to Ver 1.05 and then update to Ver 2.0, and if they directly try to update to the latest upgrade an error might occur and they will not be able to update their camera.

Apart from the new additions in the firmware update, Camera ID and reel number will now be displayed in the same file format as Sony’s other digital cameras.
