Starting today, select OnePlus and OPPO users will have access to a new overlay within the Spotify app. This overlay allows users to play games while simultaneously controlling their music playback, creating a more integrated entertainment experience.

The feature aims to enhance multitasking capabilities for users who enjoy gaming while listening to music. By providing easy access to both activities within a single interface, the companies hope to streamline the user experience.
OPPO has specified the markets where this feature is being rolled out. Users in India, Indonesia, Mexico, Philippines, Thailand, Malaysia, Egypt, Italy, Vietnam, and Spain will discover an in-app overlay showcasing gaming tools built into their devices.
Importantly, this new feature is exclusively available on devices running ColorOS 14, OPPO’s latest operating system. This limitation means that only users with compatible devices updated to ColorOS 14 will be able to access the new Spotify overlay and gaming tools.

The overlay is designed to highlight the gaming tools already integrated into OPPO devices, allowing users to access these features more easily while using Spotify.
This integration represents a novel approach to combining music streaming and mobile gaming, potentially setting a new trend in smartphone feature development and cross-app functionality. It also demonstrates OPPO’s commitment to enhancing user experience across a wide range of international markets, particularly for users of their latest software.
Users in the specified countries with ColorOS 14-enabled devices should look for the new overlay option within their Spotify app to explore the gaming tools and music control features offered. As the rollout progresses, more details about the specific functionalities and user experiences are likely to emerge.
