Simply Chat, Samsung’s Own Generative AI Tool, to be Unveiled Next Month: Beta Testing in October 2023
Reports revealed that Samsung had to face a few security breach issues after some of its employees irresponsibly typed in Samsung’s sensitive codes into the ChatGPT global databanks, after which new rules were formed, including the restriction on using ChatGPT within the company. Later, Samsung had promised its employees that the company would be introducing its own generative AI tool and Kye Hyun Kyung, CEO of Samsung Electronics, confirmed it.
Now recent reports point out that the generative AI tool is almost ready and will be unveiled by the second week of next month.
Here’s more about it.
Simply Chat
Samsung is yet to reveal the name of its generative AI tool, but as per a trademark application given by the brand to the Korea Intellectual Property Rights Information Service(KIPRIS), it is likely to be called “Simply Chat”. The product description given for the product mentions, “computer programs and computer software for language and speech processing based on machine learning”.
This generative AI tool by the brand is suggested to be unveiled before the media, public and the company’s employees next month, on the 12th of September 2023, at the Real Summit 2023 event. For those of you who are wondering whether it will become a competitor for OpenAI’s ChatGPT, Google’s Bard and other such generative AIs that have already been introduced, it won’t.
Samsung’s generative AI tool is said to be made exclusively for its employees and is designed to help and assist them in improving their productivity. It will help them with coding support, e-mail assistance, document summarization and many more.
The beta testing is reported to likely start in the month of October and by the end of this year or in early 2024, it will be made available to Samsung employees.
