Tech giant Samsung with One UI 5 supports Unicode 15 emoji ahead of everyone else, see the latest software update
Beating Apple, Microsoft, and Google, Samsung with Samsung Galaxy S22 range has begun rolling out One UI 5. And soon follow to rest of the phone lineup around the world.
Samsung is known to lag when it comes to emojis but now with One UI 5, the company is not only catching up but is ahead of other companies. Thus by bringing brand new Unicode 15 emojis to your Samsung device.
According to Android Authority, Emojipedia stated in September that a fresh set of emojis would be made available through Unicode 15. It is a standard for managing, representing, and encoding text. 31 new emojis, including a shaking face, a jellyfish, and a hair pick. And more will be included in the upcoming edition.
Samsung will be introducing 107 emojis with One UI 5 that were included with Unicode 14 back in 2021 but were overlooked by the company.
Samsung recently also introduced a “Maintenance Mode” feature for Galaxy devices with One UI 5 installed. This will protect users’ data during servicing of the phone.
Samsung will be the first Android phone to have the latest emoji with this update.
