Telegram becomes the most downloaded app on Google Play Store
WhatsApp’s new privacy policy has obliged many of its users to shift to other messaging platforms. While the company has been facing a massive drop in its user base; companies like Telegram and Signal’s downloads have multiplied tremendously since WhatsApp’s privacy policy was updated.
According to data released by Sensor Tower, in January 2021, Telegram has become the most downloaded non-gaming app worldwide. The company’s highest installs are from India i.e. 24 % of the total downloads which is then followed by Indonesia at 10%.
It’s a remarkable achievement since Telegram was ranked at ninth position in terms of downloads on Google Play in the month of December.
Whatsapp’s Privacy Policies are responsible for this tremendous growth since the app made it mandatory for its users to accept new terms; Those who choose to not agree or disagree with the updated privacy policy, they will not be able to use the app anymore stated the app.
