Whatsapp introduces E-mail verification for iPhone users to apply another layer of security to users’ accounts
Whatsapp- the one social media app that is widely used among users all over the world and lets people stay connected with their friends and family with the help of various features like voice messages, video messages, stickers, sending images, videos, and much more. Apart from this one thing that has always been taken care of by the company is the security features of Whatsapp for the security of one’s data and account.
Whether it’s end-to-end encrypted chats, status privacy, two-step verification, or blocking unknown voice calls, WhatsApp always tries to ensure the full safety of users’ data. Recently it was reported that some Whatsapp beta users were prompted to verify their accounts using their personal emails and the company is planning to roll out this feature to all its users soon. Well, WhatsApp has now started rolling out the E-mail verification feature for iOS users.
Earlier the users were only asked for the phone number for the verification process but now the users will be able to verify their account with both phone number and email. Also, WhatsApp is not replacing phone numbers with email addresses this is just an added security feature.
How to verify E-mail on WhatsApp?
- Turn on Settings in Whatsapp
- Click on Account
- Click on the E-mail address
- Then enter your E-mail address
- Enter 6 digit OTP received on the E-mail address
