WhatsApp might extend the time limit for ‘Delete for Everyone’

‘Delete for everyone’ is a feature on WhatsApp. This allows a sender to delete a message from receiving and sending ends.

WhatsApp originally allowed seven minutes to delete a message for everyone. In 2018, WhatsApp introduced the feature with a time limit of one hour, eight minutes, and 16 seconds. There were reports alleging an extension of 7 days. Though WhatsApp is denying to it.

What exactly does the extension of time limit for ‘delete for everyone’ mean?

The users will now be able to delete a message for everyone for 2 days and 12 hours. A beta version of WhatsApp for Android is alluding to purported changes. WhatsApp will show, ‘ this message was deleted’, on deleting a message for everyone.

This will allow users to rectify a wrongly sent message. This update is not available for beta users yet.

What are the other additional features?

There are two new other features:

  • WhatsApp Communities enabling a group admin to add and manage multiple groups at one place through quick access. It will help group admins to make common announcements to all the members of their chosen groups.
  • On Twitter, a couple of images of yet another new feature are surfacing. It is claiming that WhatsApp messages will now have reaction buttons. This will be available for Android as well as IoS users. Similar to WhatsApp messages, the reactions will be end-to-end encrypted.

It is not known that when will these features be available for users in public. So far, these are testings
