WhatsApp new privacy policy- All that you want to know

WhatsApp’s new privacy policy is under speculation by most of its users and currently covered with skeptical ideas. Users have till February 8, 2021, to accept these policies in order to continue using the platform. Let me bust some of the important doubts of yours here.

Why do you need to accept this policy?

It is the norm and nothing is unique in this.

This time baby company of Facebook, WhatsApp has given a deadline up to 8 Feb to accept the policies else your account would be deleted.

 Important policy changes?

The older version of the privacy policy used to start with the following lines: ‘Respect for your privacy is coded into our DNA. Since we started WhatsApp, we’ve aspired to build our Services with a set of strong privacy principles in mind.’  These lines are no longer part of the new policy. This doesn’t mean that it will become open source. It will stay end-to-end encryption.

What about data location and storage?

WhatsApp will link to its parent company and can share data to the US or other parts where Facebook’s affiliate companies are based. Facebook says-“these transfers are necessary to provide the global Services set forth in our Terms.”

What about payment data?

Not a matter of concern because WhatsApp payments have their own dedicated privacy sets.

Changes regarding different FaceBook products?

This means that if you use third-party apps for backup or transfer like Google cloud or Google Drive then these apps may receive the data you share.

Finally, it also mentions that the information exchange will include improving “relevant offers and ads across the Facebook Company Products.”
