Whatsapp Rolls Out New Calling Features Across Desktop And Mobile
Last month WhatsApp introduced voice message transcripts for users. This feature allowed users to transcribe voice messages into text, enhancing accessibility for users in noisy environments or those who prefer reading messages.
Now some new calling features are being rolled out in WhatsApp across desktop and mobile to offer an improved calling experience across the platform. There are four new features-
- Select Call Participants– Usually, when you start a group call all the members of the group are notified but now you can select specific participants, so you call exactly who you want without disrupting the rest. This feature will be helpful in case you want to plan a surprise party or discuss gift for a specific group member.
- New effects for video calls– From adding puppy ears to taking you underwater or handing a microphone for karaoke, you can choose between ten effects that transform your video calls into fun.
- Improved calling on Desktop– Users can now make calls from the Whatsapp desktop app. Just click on the calls tab, and you can start a call, create a call link, or dial a number directly.
- Better video call quality– Users can now enjoy higher resolution video with a clearer picture on both 1:1 and group calls, whether they are calling from desktop or mobile.
