WhatsApp rolls out the Instant Video Note feature in the latest update
WhatsApp has now rolled out the WhatsApp Video Note feature to all of its users in their latest update. WhatsApp took to the social media platform X and updated about the same. The WhatsApp video note feature, however, has been around for some months now.
WhatsApp first rolled out the feature for iOS and Android Beta in June 2023.

Subsequently, the feature started being available for other users and one had to hold the camera icon to send video notes. However, some users were still not able to send video notes using the camera icon. They had to send video notes by tapping the microphone icon to switch from voice to video recording. After tapping the microphone icon, they could press and hold the video camera icon to start recording.
Moreover, for a brief period, the feature was also dependent on whether you turned the Instant Video Messages feature on or off in WhatsApp Chat Settings.
However, in the latest update you can now just press and hold the camera icon, next to the text field. The timer will count down to start recording. You can also switch between the front and back phone cameras before or during the recording.
