WhatsApp stops services on older Android and iOS versions, check which versions won’t receive here

This year, WhatsApp worked vigorously towards updating and enhancing the platform. The platform saw some major updates, design changes, and more. It is planning to allow two accounts in a single app, it has brought in features like ‘Protect IP address in calls’, HD photos and video sharing, Chat Lock, Screen Share, WhatsApp channels, and many other updates that were introduced this year. However, recent reports bring in some bad news for the WhatsApp community. Off late, word was that WhatsApp would stop its services on some older OS versions from October 24, 2023. The same is now confirmed according to some notifications on WhatsApp’s FAQ page.

As notified on the FAQ page, WhatsApp services on older versions of Android and iOS phones have stopped functioning since yesterday.

Which OS versions would support WhatsApp?

WhatsApp will be now available on Android phones having Android OS version 5.0 or newer. It is to be noted that your Android phone should have the SMS or call feature turned on during the verification process.

On the other hand, in the case of iPhones, the phone should run iOS 12 or newer.

WhatsApp would also provide services on phones with KaiOS 2.5.0 or newer, including JioPhone and JioPhone 2.
