YouTube Music’s Sing, Hum Or Play Feature Will Now Let You Identify The Song In Just A Few Seconds; Check Out How

Almost every one of us has faced a situation where we just remember a tune of a song or just some lyrics of it but are not able to identify the name of the song and it’s just stuck in our head until we get to know the name of that song. Well not sure about you but I am one of these people.

Google seems to be aware of this problem of users, as it has now come up with an amazing solution where users can just hum the tune of the song or sing the lyrics on their Android smartphone, and within seconds you will get to know the name of the song. Interesting right? Google has introduced a new Play, Hum, or Sing feature for the YouTube Music app that will let you find a song in an instant.

How to use Play, Hum, or Sing Feature?

Firstly you need to open the YouTube Music app and then go to the search bar, there you will see a microphone symbol, and next to it is the sound waves symbol.

Click on the sound wave symbol, you will be asked to play, sing, or hum a song that you need to search about.

Well, I tried to search for songs in three different languages (Hindi, English, and Punjabi). First I sang a few lyrics of Afreen Afreen’s song which was a Coke studio version and within two seconds the song was identified by the app as you can see below.

Then I hummed the tune of song Love Story by Taylor Swift, well I thought it would take a few seconds to identify the song since it was just the tune of the song, but my assumption was wrong as instantly I got the name of the song on my smartphone.

At last, I also played a few lyrics of the Punjabi track Saal on my laptop to see if the app identified, and as expected it did identify the song name and the result popped up on my smartphone.

This new feature introduced by Google is insanely amazing as now the users need not be stuck over a song tune or lyrics for a long time. While the hustle of searching for the name of the song is saved as earlier it used to get a bit difficult to search for a song with just its lyrics or tune but now with this new feature on the YouTube music app, it’s just a matter of a few seconds. Well, Google has solved a major problem for Android users out there. But sadly, iPhone users don’t have the liberty for this as of now.
