YouTube to roll out “Watermark Strategy”
Recently, it has come into account that YouTube knows about the videos which are being made and shared from YouTube Shorts to different platforms. This transfer could happen because YouTube Shorts didn’t have a Watermark but now YouTube wants to be credited for the same
YouTube has announced that a watermark will appear on the video whenever the creator will download the same. This step is taken because there’s always been a war between the major short-form video platforms for the creators and viewers.
Adding a watermark will help in strengthening the user base as people will know on which platform the real video was created and where they can find the same.
Taking note of the competition, Last year, Instagram revealed that it wouldn’t promote the reels which have competitors’ watermarks. They issued this regulation under the notion of promoting ‘original content’. Knowing this, creators were forced to create original content via Reels Feature provided exclusively by Instagram.
Since 2020, YouTube has been putting tremendous efforts into making YouTube shorts a success. $100 has been rolled out by YouTube for the creators who make Shorts.
The Watermark strategy by YouTube is all set to roll out during the next few weeks, specifically for desktop. Later, it will expand to mobile as well.
