YouTube has been constantly introducing new features for the platform that are focused on the viewers and creators to enhance their overall experience. YouTube started the testing of a new feature- AI-generated Video summary.
According to a recent YouTube announcement, this feature will be expanded over the coming weeks to users globally on selected English language videos.
This new feature is of great advantage to viewers but that may not be the case for creators. As the name suggests, this feature automatically summarises a YouTube video as soon as you click it with the help of AI. This means viewers can get 70% insight about the video 10% of the time but this may make keeping people’s attention tougher for the creators.
It is also revealed that AI-generated Video summaries will not replace or impact the description of the video. Creators can still write their own video descriptions. This new summary feature is said to complement the description to help viewers find what they are looking for.
Let’s see if this feature will support some more languages or not in the future. AI-generated Video summary feature will now reach a broader global audience in the coming few weeks. So stay tuned.
