Western Digital Officially Launches World’s First SanDisk 4TB microSD Card And 8TB SD Card
If we talk about memory cards, the user always prefers the one that offers more space and is available in a portable form factor. Western Digital, owner of SanDisk brand has considered this preference of the consumers and has introduced two new SD cards.
Western Digital has unveiled the world’s first SanDisk 4TB microSDUC UHS-I card and the world’s first SanDisk 8TB SDUC UHS-I card at the FMS (Future of Memory and Storage) 2024 Conference.
These latest SD cards are said to reach a maximum speed of 100MB/s and are claimed to be ideal for smartphones, gaming, devices, drones, cameras, and laptops. With an 8TB SDUC UHS-I card, users will be able to shoot approx. 1,65,000 raw files at 24MP while with 4TB micro SDHC UHS-I in a Nintendo Switch, users will be able to store a library of more than 660 games with a 12GB file size.
Both the cards use the SDUC standard, which is said to be capable of up to 128TB storage capacity. The pricing and availability details are yet not revealed by the company.
Other than these two cards, the company also announced the first ever 16TB version of its SanDisk Desk Drive, which for now is in the proof-of-concept stage but might launch soon in the markets.
