Previously, Realme had introduced its 240W charging system in its Realme GT 3 smartphone becoming the title holders of the world’s fastest charging system. With the recently introduced 300W fast charging system, Xiaomi has won the title for itself.
Through the brand’s official Weibo handle, the company tested the new charging system on the Redmi Note 12 Discovery Edition smartphone which has a total battery backup of 4100 mAh and the phone was able to get fully charged in less than 5 minutes. The device reached 10% in 43 seconds, 50% in 2 minutes and got full charged in exactly 4 minutes 55 seconds.
The new charging system uses a customized 6:2 charge pump chip which has a conversion efficiency that is as high as 98%. Comparing to the previous 4:2 charge pump chip, the new system reduces the heat emission both in its input path and on the charging module.
The brand’s new 300W Supercharger has a dual string battery design and requires the phones battery to feature an ultra high charging rate of 15V. To make this possible Xiaomi has also introduced a new kind of hard carbon material on its mobile phone battery which will ensure a much more relaxed path for the lithium ions.
The new charging system is obviously an upgrade on the company’s previous 210W charging system and also includes a 4th generation GaN integration solution which will support high power and is small in size, at the same time will generate less heat. It also includes a large area grapheme that will also help in preventing heating within the charging module.
The 300W charger is currently under testing and is still not made available to any of the Xiaomi devices.
