19-year-old boy Saad Ashfaq Ansari was assaulted by a group of Muslim mob and jailed for speaking in support of Nupur Sharma
A 19-year-old young Muslim boy named Saad Ashfaq Ansari from the Kesharbaag area of Bhiwandi was arrested by the Bhiwandi police in Maharashtra for supporting ex-BJP spokesperson Nupur Sharma. He was also assaulted by a group of Muslim mobs for supporting Nupur Sharma and questioning the relationship between the Prophet Muhammad and his wife Ayesha on an Instagram story.
Ashfaq has written, “A 50-year-old man marrying a 6-9-year-old kid is clear child abuse. And I don’t know how you people support this. Will you give your 6-year-old daughter to a 50-year-old man? (think about it).”
Ashfaq is an engineering student who has extended his support for Nupur Sharma calling her a “brave lady” on social media. He also said, “I am not in support of any religion. I f*cking hate them all. I am just scared to live in a world where you and your family can be killed just because you spoke something about a man who died many years ago.” He further wrote, “Grow up guys. Ditch the religion which spread terrorism in the world and be human being. It’s just that simple. I already know how much hate I will get from posting this and prepared to be misunderstood because you people are still kids.”
According to reports, on June 11 he was assaulted right outside of his residence by a group of Muslim mobs. Ashfaq tried to calm the frenzied mob with folded hands by pleading them to let go of him. But he was forced to read Islamic phrases. He recited the verses while a man among the mob slapped him.
On June 12 the mob filed a complaint at the Nizampur police station in Bhiwandi in the Thane district against Ashfaq for alleged blasphemy.
According to a source, the senior police inspector named NP Pawar of Nizampura police station said, “A case has been registered against the youth following growing demand from the mob who gathered outside his house. We have arrested Saad Ansari and started investigating the case.”
Pawar also said that a man named Faraj Fazal Bahauddin alias Baba lodged a complaint against the boy under Indian Penal Code (IPC) section 153 (A) for promoting rage between two groups on the grounds of religion, race, place of birth, residence, language, and others prejudiced act.
