A Cake-Throwing Environmental Activist Targeted the Mona Lisa For Some Kind of a Strange Protest
The Mona Lisa was attacked by a cake-throwing eco-warrior in a bizarre stunt that thankfully failed to damage her famous smile. Videos posted on social media appear to show a young man in a wig and lipstick arriving at the Louvre in Paris in a wheelchair. Then leaping up and attacking Leonardo da Vinci’s 16th-century masterpiece.
According to one of the witnesses, it claimed that the man, who has yet to be recognized, attempted to shatter the bulletproof glass first. Before being arrested by security, he continues to rub cake over the glass and scatter roses everywhere. Another video depicts the protester being dragged out of the world-renowned museum in front of the Mona Lisa’s famous grin, which has not been harmed.
Just after the incident, the wig-wearing intruder yelled out: “Think of the Earth,”. He also said: “There are people who are destroying the Earth. Think about it. Artists tell you: think of the Earth. That’s why I did this.” The culprit didn’t say why he chose Da Vinci’s masterpiece as a target. We also came to know from the sources that due to several additional attacks, workers swiftly washed off the cream, which was encased in bulletproof glass. In 1911, a museum employee stole the Mona Lisa, which was later destroyed in an acid attack by a criminal in the 1950s.
