A former KKR player has been offered to fix matches for Rs. 40 lakhs
40-year-old Rajagopala Sathish lodged a police complaint in Bengaluru, claiming he had been offered ₹40 lakh to fix matches. An Instagram user named Bunny Anand approached Satish, according to a report in The Indian Express.
In addition, the report stated that Sathish didn’t take the money.
Satish was contacted on Instagram and messaged by a person named Bunny Anand on January 3, offering him *40 lakh and claiming that two players had already agreed to the deal, according to the complaint.
The police believe the money offered was used to fix matches in the TNPL, stating that the cricketer had also approached the cricket governing body, BCCI, about the matter.
While the accused is suspected to be based in Bengaluru, a special team has been formed to find him.
In addition to playing for Tamil Nadu in the Ranji Trophy, Satish has also played for the IPL franchise Kolkata Knight Riders.
Now he plays for the Chepauk Super Gillies of the Tamil Nadu Premier League (TNPL).
