10 Mins Delivery : Ola Dash VS Blinkit Formerly known as Grofers

10 Minutes delivery is definitely an attractive way to attract customers and that is why a new race is being developed between two companies. One is Ola Dash and the other is SoftBank-backed Blinkit formerly known as Grofers.

According to people familiar with the move, ride-hailing company Ola has rebranded its expedited grocery delivery business Ola Dash in order to incorporate the element of speed into the name itself.

It was previously known as Ola Store when it was first launched last year. Ola did not respond to a media inquiry right away.

Blinkit already has the backend which was already made by Grofers. However, Ola Dash has to definitely step up the game. This will increase competition and in turn, will put immense pressure on the riders. Recently a Zomatio executive was hit and killed by a Delhi Police constable.

DRIVERS’ CONCERNS AND RISKY ROADS

Even in cities, most roads are littered with potholes, and cattle or other animals straying into traffic pose a constant challenge for drivers who frequently break fundamental traffic rules.

According to the World Bank, India has a traffic death every four minutes. Every year, over 150,000 people are killed in car accidents.

All 13 Blinkit and Zepto drivers interviewed by Reuters in the important cities of Mumbai, New Delhi, and Gurugram said they were under pressure to fulfil delivery deadlines, which often resulted in speeding to avoid being reprimanded by store management.

“We only have five to six minutes, and I’m tense and scared for my life,” one Blinkit driver, who asked to remain anonymous, said.

Blinkit’s CEO remarked on Twitter in August that because dark stores are always near destination sites, riders are not penalized and may deliver “at their own leisure and rhythm.”

Riders on the delivery truck disagreed. Many of them told Reuters that in their haste, they stamp orders as delivered even before they arrive at their destination.
