After Elon Musk’s acquisition, Twitter has started taking down CSE content

Until Elon Musk’s acquisition, human trafficking survivor Eliza Bleu had been exerting constant pressure on the Twitter team to remove CSE content.

Before Elon Musk’s acquisition, Twitter took a while to delete most of the information.

She expressed happiness at finally seeing the changes the platform is putting into place under Elon Musk’s new direction via a thread of her tweets.

What are the changes Twitter has made after Eliza Bleu’s suggestion?

Bleu pointed out a few of the significant changes Twitter has undertaken under its new management. The initial changes were made to the reporting system. Twitter has already implemented two of the suggestions Bleu offered for the platform in a tweet thread.

Straightforward reporting is the first. For children who want to report their own abuse content, Twitter has provided a two-click reporting feature.

Bleu believes that there should be a separate category for individuals who have been sexually exploited. She suggested that the reporting choices for both adults and children who are the victims of sexual exploitation need to be separate and extremely clear.

The platform has also been working hard to eliminate hashtags that are known to be used to promote the sale of CSE. These are well-known hashtags that are utilized on the site for CSE trading.

Bleu mentioned in her tweet thread that some tags outside the top three are actively sharing and posting illegal content.

Bleu has advised Twitter to prioritize removing CSE content, go through reports, review all of the reports’ backlogs, and collaborate with the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, according to her tweets.
