Amazon to shut down its Android App Store from 20th August, 2025; Amazon coins are no longer available for purchase

Last year Amazon announced that its Windows app store would be discontinued on 5th March 2025, due to Microsoft’s end of support for Windows Subsystem for Android. But at the time of the announcement, the company mentioned that the Amazon app store would be available and supported on Fire TV, Fire Tablet, and Android devices.
Well after Windows, the company has now announced the shutdown of the Amazon Android app store also. As per Amazon’s FAQ page, starting August 20, 2025, users will no longer have access to the Amazon App Store on Android devices.
Other than this Amazon Coins program is also coming to an end. Amazon coins were earlier used to purchase games, apps, in-app items, and more from the Amazon app store. From 20th February 2025 Amazon coins are no longer available for purchase while the Amazon Coins program will be discontinued on August 20, 2025. Users have until 20 August to spend their remaining coin balance.
Amazon has also started sending notices to developers, stating that they will no longer be able to submit new apps targeting Android devices, though Developers will still be able to push app updates up until August 20.
Amazon App Store for Windows and Android devices will soon bid goodbye but it will be still available on Fire TV and Fire Tablet devices.
