Elon Musk proposes Twitter DMs to be end-to-end encrypted, similar to Signal

Elon Musk, who took over Twitter on Monday has already begun to plan some changes for the microblogging site.

Musk stated that Twitter Direct Messages should have end-to-end encryption, similar to Signal. So that no one can spy on or hack into messages.

Musk also stated that the microblogging site must be politically neutral in order to earn public trust.

“For Twitter to deserve public trust, it must be politically neutral, which effectively means upsetting the far right and the far left equally,” Musk tweeted.

End-to-end encryption ensures that only the sender and recipient can see the messages they exchange.

It is a secure communication method that prevents third parties from gaining access to data while it is being transferred from one end system or device to another.

End-to-end encryption protects data on the user’s device and decrypts it only on the recipient’s device.
