Google Jamboard Phasing Out: View-Only Mode in October, Full Shutdown in December 2024
Google Jamboard, the interactive whiteboard developed by Google, will no longer be active for creating new Jams from October 1, 2024. Jamboard exists both in the hardware mode and as an online service.
The online service of Google Jamboard allows anyone with a Google account to access this feature. The same will now be available only in the view-only mode. Google has notified users regarding the same. You won’t be able to create new or edit existing Jams on any platform irrespective of whether it is web, iOS, or Android. Users who wish to keep Jamboard data will have to export them, as all data will be deleted on December 31, 2024, according to Wikipedia.
It is to be noted that physical, hardware Jamboards will still function after October 1, 2024.
According to Google, they are shutting down the service as better and more capable alternatives are abundant. Netizens across the globe expressed their frustration regarding the shutdown. Some stated that Google remains inconsistent when it comes to keeping its products functioning.
