Instagram is carrying out a new layout to display stories on the desktop. Instagram Stories feature in the new interface in a convenient carousel way, making it easy to use on the desktop. Instagram began implementing the update earlier last month and now it seems to be rolled out for all users. Users will see a carousel of stories in the current design, including clickable previews of past and upcoming stories.
The update makes Instagram Stories easy to access on your desktop and also makes it easier to watch where you are in the Stories queue. It’s going to roll out for Windows and Mac users. The modern multi-story carousal architecture has begun to emerge for us. It’s going to come out quickly for all consumers.
Although the navigation stays the same, you can now see a total of five Instagram Stories on your desktop, with one player in the middle. The next story emerges after you’ve done watching one or when you press the arrow button on the right, showing that you want to switch to the next one. The carousel starts to shift as you go on.
Instagram Storie’s redesign features quick pause/play and volume mute keys. Besides that, it also has an alternative that lets you answer stories directly, much like the Instagram Stories on the phone.
The update was being checked on a ‘small group’ of Instagram users in December and was announced earlier this month.
The Instagram Story update offers a cleaner user interface. It’s easier to browse through Stories on the Facebook-owned desktop app now than ever. The update would be especially helpful for those who use the Instagram desktop on a daily basis.
