Quora on Elon Musk’s tweet, “Disinformation is not allowed on Quora”

Quora responded to Elon Musk’s tweet by stating that misinformation is not permitted on the site.

Elon Musk’s tweet was met with a response from Quora, which stated that disinformation is not permitted on the site under its ‘real name’ policy, Quora barred accounts with Donald Trump’s name from editing answers on its app.

Quora’s Real Name Policy required users to register with their full names rather than an Internet pseudonym or other screen name; although name verification was not required, false names could be reported by the community. This was done ostensibly to boost the credibility of answers.

Tesla CEO Elon Musk said on Monday that he hopes his harshest critics will remain on Twitter, amid reports that the company’s board has decided to accept his $46.5 billion takeover bid. “I hope that even my harshest critics continue to follow me on Twitter, because that is what free speech entails,” he tweeted.

In just a few hours, the tweet received over 1 million likes and nearly 200,000 retweets.
