SBI YONO app drops support for Android 11 and below

This might be bad news for those using the SBI YONO app. According to a new update, users running Android 11 or below will no longer be able to use the app. This information was shared via the official OnePlus community handle.
Since the app is incompatible with Android 11 and earlier, this restriction applies regardless of the smartphone brand. If you are affected by this change, you will need to access your banking services through https://www.onlinesbi.sbi instead.
However, considering that Android 11 was launched in September 2020, this change was somewhat expected. Currently, there is no exact official figure on the total number of affected users. However, as per Statcounter, the estimated percentage of Android 11 and below users in India as of February 2025 is:
Android 11: 11-12.62%
Android 10: 5.84%
Android 9 Pie: 3.19%
Android 8.0 Oreo: 1.67%
Android 8.1 Oreo: 1.05%

This means that a significant number of users—especially those using older devices—could be affected by this change.
If you’re using a smartphone that is 6-7 years old, this might be the right time to upgrade to a newer device to continue using the SBI YONO app seamlessly.
