Signal App gets a new update: Users can now sync entire chat history and last 45 days of media when registering on a new device (Desktop or iPad)

Signal app- a private messaging app that keeps your conversation encrypted, makes voice and video calls to friends and family, allows you to choose custom alerts for each contact, and much more. Recently a new update is rolled out for this app which makes it easy for users to link their primary Signal device to a new Desktop or iPad.

As per the new update now when you link your primary Signal device to a new Desktop or iPad, you can bring your chat history and your last 45 days of media with you. It is also specified that the transfer process is end-to-end encrypted and completely optional.

This new feature will help users register to a new device without the worry or fear of leaving previous chats or important media files.

How to link a new device?

To link a new Desktop or iPad device to an existing Signal account, the new device must prove it has the account holder’s permission to connect to the existing Signal account and obtain a set of keys from the primary device. A QR code will be sent to the linked device, open the Linked devices section in Signal settings on your primary device, after authentication scan the QR code and you are all set. The process is similar to Whatsapp’s linking process.
