Spotify subscribers in US will have to pay more for the premium service

If you are a Spotify user in the USA, you may have to spend some extra bucks soon. Spotify has announced plans to increase subscription prices for US customers. In a blog post, Spotify stated that starting from the billing date in July(for existing customers), you will have to pay $11.99 for an Individual plan.

According to the new pricing schedule, the Duo plan will cost $16.99, the Family plan will be $19.99, and the Student plan will be $5.99. Spotify mentioned that existing customers will soon be notified via email about the changes in the subscription plans.

The email would look like the screen grab above. Although there has been an increase in the Individual, Duo, and Family plans, Spotify hasn’t changed the student subscription, which remains at $5.99.
