This new Disney’s Hotstar Series is creating anger amongst Indians with Uninstall Hotstar Trending
With the premiere of the web program The Empire on Friday, the online streaming site Hotstar has found itself in hot water. Shabana Azmi, Dino Morea, Drashti Dhami, Kunal Kapoor, Aditya Seal, Sahher Bambba, Rahul Dev, and others feature in the program, which is produced by Nikkhil Advani. The epic period action drama, based on Alex Rutherford’s “Empire of the Moghul: Raiders from the North,” recounts the tale of an empire from the Ferghana Valley to Samarkhand and beyond. Soon after the series’ teaser appeared on the internet, fans began protesting to it, accusing the creators of glorifying the Islamic invader Babur. Hotstar, on the other hand, has dismissed complaints about the show ‘The Empire,’ which started the ‘Uninstall Hotstar’ craze.
Complaints against the series were received by the grievance officer designated under the Information Technology (Guidelines for intermediaries and Digital Media Ethics Code) Rules, 2021, but the officer dismissed them, stating that the series does not glorify Babur. The online series, according to Hotstar, makes no mention of the Supreme Court’s decision in favour of Ram Lalla Virajman at the Ram Janmabhoomi temple, where the contested building, also known as the Babri Masjid, stood in 2019.
One Twitter user reacted to the series by saying, “In 2021, the invaders who devastated and stole India, slaughtered Hindus, and converted them in the name of their intolerant Jihad will be praised? Is that what we’re up to? Producers, authors, performers, and others, shame on you.” Another person inquired, “Hotstar has dismissed objections over its Babur series, claiming that they are not celebrating the Islamic invasion. Have you uninstalled it yet?”

“A failed assassination attempt on the monarch adds to concerns about Ferghana’s vulnerability. The youthful king now has to assume command of an entire country “the show’s official synopsis stated.
Kunal Kapoor stated that playing an emperor in the series was fascinating for him since the character had a lot of complexity. “Many legends have been told about Babur and the Mughals, but little is known about who they were, where they came from, or how they entered India. This is a character with a lot of complexity in this fictitious version, and that’s what drew me in as an actor “he stated
