Board Chairman Bret Taylor assisted in answering questions about the Board’s decision to accept Musk’s offer.
Taylor informed employees that the Board was required and compelled by Delaware corporate law to uphold the company’s fiduciary duties.
The CEO stated that the company would continue to operate normally and that he would be present to assist employees in making the greatest possible impact. Taylor pointed out a misunderstanding about the deployment of the Shareholder Rights Agreement and claimed that the media made a bigger deal out of Twitter’s actions than was necessary.
Employees were curious about what would happen to their jobs after the transaction was completed, as well as whether the company’s governance would change.
Taylor stated that when the sale was accepted, the stock reached a former high of around $70, delivering an absolute value to shareholders.
