We simply have “NO CHOICE” but to sue US administration, says TikTok over Trump’s executive order
‘We simply have no choice’ but to sue the US administration over US President Trump’s executive order prohibiting transactions in the nation with the popular video-sharing app, TikTok said in a statement.
“We do not take suing the government lightly, however, we feel we have no choice but to take action to protect our rights and the rights of our community and employees,” it added.
For the uninitiated, Mr Trump said there was “credible evidence” that TikTok was being used by to breach US security.
However, Tiktok’s parent company ByteDance has repeatedly denied such allegations.
It should be mentioned here that the US is not the only country to introduce restrictions on TikTok. India has already banned the use of the app, and Australia is also considering the similar action as the app is reportedly viewed by some as being a key instrument in China’s internal surveillance apparatus.
