Who is the new contender of WhatsApp, when all its users are facing issues with its Privacy Policy?
It seems like WhatsApp is terrified of losing its users all over the world, so it is making every attempt to pacify all complaints about its privacy policy and functionality. After major outcry and outcry from users worldwide for their latest privacy policy, WhatsApp has set WhatsApp’s status and makes it clear once again that consumer data and private conversations are protected with the business.
WhatsApp has posted full-page newspaper ads clarifying its latest terms, WhatsApp has updated the same in the Status in-app section.
In a series of four status posts, WhatsApp maintains that it does not “read or listen to your end-to-end encrypted.”
Official Status updates from WhatsApp are shocking because, as users press on the posts, they vanish from the Status feed. The status doesn’t even turn up for viewed posts later.
WhatsApp set a February 8 deadline for users to adopt a new policy or forfeit their account, which received serious reactions from users and privacy activists.
Many industry-leading shoots, such as Elon Musk, have called for the Facebook app to be refused and join Signal.
Since WhatsApp has started sending in-app messages to its customers, telling them to support the strategy of continuing with their services, many users have migrated to other messaging channels. Telegram and Signal saw an unprecedented rise in downloads and new users.
WhatsApp Clarifies its latest Privacy Policies.
“We’re now moving back the date on which people will be asked to review and accept the terms. No one will have their account suspended or deleted on February 8. We’re also going to do a lot more to clear up the misinformation around WhatsApp’s privacy and security work. We’ll then go to people gradually to review the policy at their own pace before new business options are available on May 15,” said the company in a blog post.
Petition against current policy
A PIL has been filed opposing WhatsApp’s current privacy policy in the High Court of Delhi and the Supreme Court. In contrast, a petition was filed by the All India Traders Confederation seeking guidance from the Central Government to take urgent action against the firm as the new policy would be harmful to consumers’ welfare.
WhatsApp’s current policy has been a focus of controversy. Let’s see what its next position will be to restore confidence to its customers.
New Contender of WhatsApp
Undoubtedly, Telegram is the new contender of WhatsApp after its users got angry with its privacy policy. Users argued that Telegram is a better choice than Whatsapp when it comes to privacy and protection. As Telegram provides end-to-end encryption for regular chats, it has an alternative called ‘secret chats’ where it says that the chats shared in this feature do not leave a trace on the company’s server.
Furthermore, unlike WhatsApp, Telegram is cloud-based, ensuring that all the text messages, images, media files, and documents are synchronized with all your registered devices and Telegram’s cloud storage.
