YouTube Premium Lite Plan could soon be launched

Back in 2023, YouTube discontinued its Premium Lite plan. This plan offered users the benefit of an ad-free experience in the past and was available at a cheaper price. But other benefits like YouTube Music, background play, and download options were unavailable to YouTube Premium Lite subscribers.

Last year a new version of YouTube Premium Lite was tested in countries like Germany, Australia, and Thailand and it was expected that this plan would be soon rolled out to users officially. A recent report by Bloomberg revealed that YouTube is planning to introduce a new, lower-priced subscription called YouTube Premium Lite.

The package is said to be soon announced in the US, Australia, Germany, and Thailand. The plan is said to target viewers who primarily want to watch programs other than music videos. With the YouTube Premium Plan Lite plan, users will be offered a vast library of podcasts and how-to clips without advertising while the music videos will still include ads.

Other than the above-mentioned countries, this upcoming plan is also expected to be released to more countries in the future.
