BCCI dismisses BJP MLA’s declaration that Rahul Dravid will attend the Yuva Morcha meeting
The BCCI has refuted a report that men’s cricket team head coach Rahul Dravid attended a meeting of the Bharatiya Janata Party Yuva Morcha’s National Working Committee in Dharamshala, Himachal Pradesh on Monday, as alleged by a BJP MP. According to the BJP MLA’s sources, BJP President JP Nadda, senior party office-bearers, and Union Ministers would attend the event. The three-day meeting will also include Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur. A total of 139 representatives from across the country are expected to attend the meeting.
Nehria said: “The National Working Committee of BJP Yuva Morcha will be held in Dharamshala from May 12 to 15. The national leadership of BJP and the leadership of Himachal Pradesh will be involved. BJP National President JP Nadda, National Organization Minister, and Union Minister will also attend the session.”
Dravid’s presence, according to Nehria, will send a message to the kids encouraging them to excel in all professions. This comes ahead of the Himachal Pradesh Assembly elections this year. He also mentioned that Indian batsman Rahul Dravid will be there. Because of his accomplishment, the message to the kids will be that they can succeed not only in politics but also in other sectors. Dravid called BCCI media manager Moulin Parikh to tell him the “report is incorrect,” as per Parikh.
The BJP gained 44 seats in the 2017 Assembly Elections, considerably above the halfway mark of 35, while the incumbent Congress received 21 seats and three seats out of a total of 68 Assembly seats. While the state’s primary political parties have been the Congress and the BJP, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), buoyed by the Punjab vote results, is attempting to make the struggle multi-faceted.
