Binance CEO thanked Elon Musk on Twitter for creating a free speech platform on the social networking space

The CEO of Binance Changpeng Zhao has thanked Elon Musk on Twitter for introducing the downvote feature. He said, “This downvote thing seems to work. I see much less spam now, and can open comments a lot more. Maybe recency bias, but there seems to have been more changes on Twitter in the last 2 months than in the last 2 years. Probably thanks to Elon. ”

Twitter has introduced the downvote button with concerns about limiting spam profiles. Downvote buttons have already been introduced by social platforms like Reddit and YouTube. Twitter Support account has announced the introduction of a downvote button in June 2022 available on the web, Android, and iOS platforms. The feature is available as an upside-down arrow to the right of the heart-shaped button.

The new feature is available on replies and not on original posts also it’s an attempt by the social media platform to erase offensive and irrelevant replies. Twitter has also stated that the downvote button will also improve the experience of the platform with high-quality content.

Elon Musk initiated the creation of a free speech environment with an idea on Twitter during his purchase of the social networking platform. Mr. Musk has called himself a “free speech absolutist” after saying, “free speech is the bedrock of a functioning democracy, and Twitter is the digital town square where matters vital to the future of humanity are debated.”

Mr. Musk has also questioned Twitter to provide him the data regarding the spam accounts and bots since they can certainly hinder the creation of a free speech platform.

In his tweet, Binance CEO has possibly talked about the ideas provided by Mr. Musk to the social networking company Twitter as the downvote button was initiated during the Musk era of Twitter.
