BJP Suspends Nupur Sharma from its membership over Muslim remarks
BJP has stated that its spokesperson Nupur Sharma and media chief Naveen Jindal will be suspended from the party on Sunday. This has surged an ample amount of controversies on social media.
The party has stated that they will not tolerate any anti-muslim remarks since they respect all religions equally. They also said that they are strongly against the ideology that insults or demeans any sect or religion. The party’s general secretary Arun Singh has put such a statement strongly opposing the act of the spokesperson Nupur Sharma.
Singh said, “During the thousands of years of history of India every religion has blossomed and flourished. The BJP respects all religions. The BJP strongly denounces insult of any religious personalities of any religion.” He also mentioned that according to the Constitution every person in this country has the right to choose and honor their respective religion.
